The Kowbelle Story:
Who? What? Where? About Kowbelle-
KowBelle is the latest studio production project of Louis Ross, writer and community volunteer living in the mountains outside of Chattanooga, Tennessee. The album KowBelle is a collection of Lou Ross's most personal songs recorded and performed by a handful of outstanding musicians and vocalists.
With the help of our fans, Kowbelle fulfilled it's contract with the American Red Cross generously donating $3,000 (non tax deductible) in 2012. Thank you!
About Louis Ross-
Lou Ross moved down to Tennessee from Pennsylvania in 1990 and settled in a small cabin in the woods, overlooking the beautiful Tennessee River Gorge just west of Chattanooga. During the last 22 years, he embraced the culture and friendliness of the South, and enjoyed the scenic beauty of the mountains and the Tennessee river valley where he lives.
Lou is known as, and best remembered for his running achievements in track and cross-country at his New Jersey high school where he grew up. He set two NJ state records in the two-mile as a freshmen, won the Eastern State Championships in cross-country in 1981, and recorded the fastest indoor two mile time in the country for the junior high school class. This time of 9:12.5 set the record at his high school, and remains the fastest indoor two mile time ever performed for his Delbarton School.
After high school, Lou graduated from Bucknell University with a BA in Art and English in 1986, and primarily concentrated in environmental science study. Although he does not run anymore, Lou remains active, and enjoys caving and long-distance, off-trail, rugged terrain hiking. He has also trekked in both desert and alpine climates in the western states.
Lou loves the land, the earth, and has been landscaping professionally for the last 20 years. His entrepreneurial spirit led him to create Exit Enter Prizes, a company that gives Lou a new outlet for his artistic expression. "I love this new work", Lou says, "and Kowbelle is my heart and soul". Lou also has a strong passion for writing; he wants to continue writing country music songs and believes in his uniquely witty and stylized method of writing. Creativity is one of Lou's strongest talents and this shows in the projects he undertakes.
Another of Lou's passions is helping his community. Since his early teenage years, Lou has supported various charitable organizations in New Jersey, Pennsylvania, and now Tennessee.
